Fresh Cranberry Sauce

This is so fast and easy to make and it is so much tastier than that canned jelly stuff!  Try it and add it to your Thanksgiving recipes.

The Recipe:




Fresh Cranberry Sauce

1 (12 oz) package of fresh cranberries
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon orange zest
¾  cup orange juice

Wash and pick through cranberries and remove stems and damaged ones.  Mix cranberries, sugar, orange juice and orange zest in a medium sauce pan over medium high heat until it comes to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.  You should be hearing popping open while the cranberries cook. Let cool.  Cover and refrigerate until cold and read to use.  Can be made ahead a day or so.
