Red White and Blue Burgers

With the Fourth of July coming, what are you grilling?  How about this patriotic red, white and blue burger?  It is delicious and will serve you well during this holiday!  With its blue cheese, red wine and white onions, you can't go wrong.  
This is the grown up version, so leave out the wine on the kids burgers!

Roasted Vidalia Onion

Vidalia Onions are so sweet and wonderful.  They are Georgia's state vegetable. I saw this recipe a couple of years ago and have been making it every since.  It tastes like french onion soup without all the trouble.  This is so easy to make and is great as a side to a great steak or all by itself.  Sweet onion and beefy broth!

Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon and Halibut with Lemon and Dill

This is such an easy and great way to cook fish.  The cedar plank lends a smoky flavor to the fish.  Since I like Hailbut and my spouse likes salmon,  I made both last night.  The lemon and dill works really well with both kinds of fish.  At the last minute I decided to make to the butterly lemon and dill sauce 
and it was just an added bonus.

Arugula Salad with Lemon Parmesan Dressing

I am really into making cool things to eat since it is so darn hot outside.  If I cannot be in the pool while BBQing, then your getting a cool meal at my house.  I thought I would share one of my favorite salads with ya'll.  I was first introduced to arugula while living in Amsterdam.  They used this in salad all the time.  I thought you might like to have a little background on it so according to Wikepedia, arugula is rich in vitamin C and potassium.  It has been grown in the Medditerranean since Roman times, and is considered an aphrodisiac!  It has a rich peppery taste and has a strong flavor for a leafy green.  The lemon and Parmesan dressing seems to marry well to the flavor of the greens.  
If you haven't ever tried arugula as your salad green, you should give it a try, besides, it's fresh and healthy.  Since I found this several years ago and I have been adapting this ever since.  I change it up everytime depending on what I have on hand.  This is the basic one today but add anything you like.

Veggie Pasta Salad

It is already hot here in Texas!  I don't know about you but when it is this hot I do not want anything hot to eat.  So get up and get cooking early to make this wonderful, fresh veggie pasta salad for your lunch or dinner time meals.  Its easy, you can use up your leftover veggies from your shopping 
trip to the farmers market last weekend and it's fresh and healthy.



Open wide, just taste all that goodness!
