Oops, sorry I had to have a bite. Man ole man is that good!
Toss cherries with 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
Melt butter in 8-inch square baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt, stir to blend. Pour the batter over the melted butter.
Arrange cherries over top of the batter. Place in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
The top will be browned and the cake will begin to pull away from the sides of the baking dish.
Serve warm by itself,
Or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
1 cup of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups sweet cherries, pitted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon corn starch
Heat over to 350 degrees.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon salt, stir to blend. Add 1 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla to flour mixture, stir until combined.
Melt butter in 8-inch square baking dish. Pour the batter over the melted butter.

Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cobbler comes out clean. The top will be browned and the cobbler will begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
